With over 25 years of experience in the marine industry, Caroline Levey is a founding member of OceanWise, established in 2010. Her expertise spans marine data management, GIS development, and environmental monitoring, making her a key figure in the industry.
Before co-founding OceanWise, Caroline built a diverse career, including developing GIS capabilities at the Port of London Authority (PLA), creating GIS-based software for companies like Airbus, and leading marine data product development at SeaZone—the first dedicated marine data company. She holds a Master’s degree in Geographical Information Science and has been instrumental in shaping OceanWise’s data products and GIS-based solutions for ports.
Since becoming Managing Director in 2021, Caroline has been a driving force behind OceanWise’s commitment to customer service excellence, global expansion, and continuous innovation. She is a highly respected peer and speaker within the industry, delivering training worldwide to professionals looking to enhance their GIS and data management skills. Passionate about best practices, safety, and efficiency in the marine sector, she is also an advocate for women in leadership and strives to inspire the next generation.
Outside of work, competitive sport has taken a back seat to supporting her children’s sporting ambitions—spending most weekends as a dedicated “taxi and pit crew” in muddy fields! She also actively supports her local cycling and canoe clubs.
